Presidential Message on Holy Week, 2025
The White House – April 13, 2025
This Holy Week, Melania and I join in prayer with Christians across the nation as we reflect on the crucifixion and resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ—the living Son of God who conquered death, freed us from sin, and opened the gates of Heaven to all of humanity.
Holy Week begins with Christ’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday and reaches its climax during the Paschal Triduum—starting with the Mass of the Lord’s Supper on Holy Thursday, followed by Good Friday, and culminating in the Easter Vigil on Saturday night. It is a time of solemn remembrance and spiritual reflection as Christians prepare their hearts for the joy of Resurrection Sunday.
We remember that Easter’s glory is only possible because of Christ’s sacrifice. In His final hours, Jesus willingly endured unimaginable pain and crucifixion out of perfect love for all creation. Through His suffering, we find redemption. Through His death, we receive the forgiveness of sins. Through His Resurrection, we gain the hope of eternal life. On Easter morning, the stone is rolled away, the tomb is empty, and light triumphs over darkness—declaring that death does not have the final word.
This Holy Week, my Administration reaffirms its unwavering commitment to defend the Christian faith—whether in our schools, military, workplaces, hospitals, or halls of government. We stand boldly in defense of religious liberty, the sanctity of life, and the acknowledgment of God in our public square.
As we reflect on Christ’s humility and obedience—even in suffering—we pray for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon our beloved Nation. May America remain a beacon of faith, hope, and freedom to the world, and may we live in a way that reflects the truth, beauty, and goodness of Christ’s eternal Kingdom.
May God bless you and your family during this sacred season—and may He continue to bless the United States of America.
Personal Commentary
In my 45 years as an active voter, I have never seen a President make such a powerful declaration of the Gospel. Praise the Lord for His redemptive hand upon the Executive Branch of the United States! Compare this with what the previous administration released during Holy Week last year—recognizing March 31, 2024, as “Transgender Day of Visibility.” What a difference one year and one election can make!
This is living proof that elections have real, spiritual consequences. We, as God’s people—and “We the People” of the United States—must engage in the process of selecting our leaders.
